We published an article in August with our thoughts on Colin Kaepernick’s failed attempt at publicity (or how he envisioned it working out for him). While there are a few that called him a Patriot, others considered his refusal to stand during our nation’s anthem as courageous. If you read Insolence in Society, it was abundantly clear that to us, his actions were nothing short of failed publicity stunt. We are confident that while in his convoluted train of thought, what he was doing was honorable, in reality, didn’t mean shit.

The past 8 months, readers from both sides of opinion fired (and continue to do so) at us with comments. Most view the act of jackassery as chicken shit, but there are some who stand…or sit with Kaepernick. We welcome both opinions. We cannot express our appreciation for the rights afforded to us in our Constitution enough, regardless of which ones. However, when the constitutional rights come at a price (such as warriors paying the ultimate sacrifice) to defend it, we take it serious.

We have come full circle in this little debate. While the objective here is not to get into the crap that is professional sports and the political and bureaucratic bullshit that consumes it, we are merely writing to affirm the fact that the appearance of WE THE PEOPLE have forced the franchises within the National Football League to pull their heads from their asses! We say all the that the time is NOW for us to vote with our dollars. The national attention that Kaepernick received from his antics during the 2016 season did nothing for him but contemplate offloading some of his toys that your…our merchandising money bought him simply because the 126 million dollar payday has come to a screeching halt.

There have been 12 other pros that have been picked up ahead of Colin Kaepernick in preparation for the 2017/18 season. One could make the argument that it is NOT because of his performance. Case in point; the Niners picked up a 31-year-old Chicago Bear to replace Kaepernick as their starter. Here’s the slap in the face for Kap…for a 2-year deal which comes at the low low price of $12 million. Yes, that is A LOT of money…but compared to the shit stain that the 49’ers had before…its a drop in the bucket.

The 49ers replaced a $126 million dollar QB with a 12 million dollar option that will undoubtedly do what he is paid to do

The above stats is about all we are going to delve into with because again, pro sports are that insignificant to what is happening in our country right now. Again it is a testament to how loud we can be. Critics say that the free agent hasn’t been signed because his salary didn’t reflect his gameplay…but we cannot help to think that is only a smidgeon of the reason why the music is slowly stopping, and the former QB for San Fran is still without a chair. Baseball players go into slumps, Hockey players go stagnant, and UFC fighters experience injury, supplement scandals, etc. yet they still are managed to get signed because those who make the decisions take the totality of the circumstance into account which ultimately ends up working out for the athletes. Patriots, Veterans, and Americans stood up in masses and reminded Kaepernick [and 49’ers] that we will not put up with the bullshit anymore. We have a message for pro athletes. You are nothing more than court jesters who are paid ridiculous sums of money to entertain us…do just that, or you may end up kicking rocks all the way to the unemployment line like ole Mr. Colin. Unless you have defended our beloved constitution, and have a point of view that is genuine; keep your lame marketing attempts to yourself, play your sport and cash your checks!
